Why Isn’t My NFC Product Working with an Android Phone?
Do Review⚡️Zaps NFC Products Work with Android?
Yes. Review⚡️Zaps NFC Products work with compatible Android phones that support NFC tag reading.
However, NFC is not available on every Android model, and it may need to be enabled before scanning.
If your phone does not respond when you tap your NFC Product, start with the checks below.
1. Check That NFC Is Enabled
- Open your phone’s Settings
- Search for NFC
- Open the relevant setting and switch NFC on
On supported Samsung Galaxy phones, this is typically under:
Settings > Connections > NFC and contactless payments
Other Android manufacturers may use different menu names.
If no NFC setting appears, check the manufacturer’s specifications for your exact phone model. Installing an app cannot add NFC hardware to a phone that does not have it.
2. Wake and Unlock Your Phone
Turn on the screen and unlock the phone before trying again.
Keep the phone awake while scanning.
This gives you a consistent starting point because NFC behavior can vary between Android devices.
3. Find the Correct NFC Tap Spot
Android phones can place the NFC antenna in very different locations.
Instead of guessing, use our free:
NFC Tap Spot Finder
Search your exact phone model to see the recommended NFC tap location.
Then:
- Position that part of the phone directly over your Review⚡️Zaps Card or Stand
- Hold the phone steady for a moment
- Avoid quickly swiping the phone across the product
If nothing happens, remove any thick, metal, or magnetic phone case and try again.
4. Check What Happens After the Tap
The next step depends on how the phone responds:
- Nothing happens: Check NFC settings, phone compatibility, and the tap position shown in our NFC Tap Spot Finder.
- A link or notification appears: The phone has detected the tag. Follow the prompt to open the link.
- A page opens but shows an error or the wrong business: The NFC tag is being read, but the saved review link may need to be replaced.
- Google asks you to sign in: Complete Google’s sign-in process to leave a review. This does not indicate an NFC scanning problem.
If the wrong page opens, use our free:
Google Review Link Generator
Search your business, select the correct location, and click TEST MY LINK.
If needed, reprogram your Review⚡️Zaps Product with the fresh link.
5. Test with Another Compatible Phone
Try scanning the same Review⚡️Zaps Product with another Android or iPhone that supports NFC tag reading.
- If it works on the second phone, the original phone’s settings or NFC tap position are likely the issue.
- If neither phone detects the product, contact us for further assistance.
