Frequently Asked Questions

Which Phones Are Compatible with Review⚡️Zaps NFC Products?

Which Phones Can Use My NFC Product?

Review⚡️Zaps NFC Products work with compatible iPhone and Android phones that support reading NFC tags.

NFC allows the phone to read the link saved on your Review⚡️Zaps Card or Stand when the phone is held close to the tag.

Compatibility depends on the phone’s model and capabilities. Not every smartphone supports NFC tag reading, so it is worth checking the specific device.

Are iPhones Compatible?

iPhone XS, iPhone XR, and later models support background NFC tag reading.

This allows compatible iPhones to detect an NFC tag without opening a separate scanning app. When the phone detects the saved link, the customer can tap the notification to open it.

Older iPhones may require a manual NFC reader or compatible app, depending on the model and software version. They may not provide the same tap experience as newer models.

Are Android Phones Compatible?

Many Android phones support NFC, but availability varies by manufacturer and model.

NFC may also need to be switched on in the phone’s settings.

To check:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Search for NFC
  3. Make sure NFC is enabled if the option is available

On supported Samsung Galaxy phones, the setting is typically under:

Settings > Connections > NFC and contactless payments

If you cannot find an NFC setting, check the manufacturer’s specifications for your exact phone model.

Where Do I Tap My Phone?

The NFC antenna is located in different places depending on the phone model.

Instead of guessing, use our free:

NFC Tap Spot Finder

Search your exact phone model to see the recommended NFC tap location.

This can be especially helpful if:

  • The phone supports NFC but does not respond consistently
  • You are unsure where the NFC antenna is located
  • You are helping a customer with a different phone model
  • You want to make scanning faster and easier

What if a Phone Does Not Support NFC?

A phone without NFC tag-reading capability cannot open your review link by tapping the NFC Product.

You can still share your Google review link directly with the customer by text, email, or another method.

If you have a QR code linked to your review page, the customer can also scan it with a compatible phone camera.

What if a Compatible Phone Does Not Respond?

A missed scan does not necessarily mean the phone is incompatible.

Try the following:

  • Wake and unlock the phone
  • Confirm NFC is enabled where applicable
  • Use the NFC Tap Spot Finder to find the correct tap location
  • Remove any thick, metal, or magnetic phone case
  • Hold the phone steady over the NFC Product for a moment

If the phone detects the NFC tag but opens the wrong page, use our free:

Google Review Link Generator

to generate and test a fresh Google review link.
