How to Scan Your NFC Product with an iPhone or Android
Before You Scan
Make sure your Review⚡️Zaps Card or Stand has already been programmed with your Google review link and that the phone supports NFC tag reading.
Wake and unlock the phone before scanning.
For the easiest setup, use our free:
NFC Tap Spot Finder
Search your exact phone model and the tool will show you the recommended NFC tap location.
Because the NFC antenna is located in different places on different phones, using the correct spot can make scanning much faster and more consistent.
How to Scan on iPhone
Find the Correct Tap Spot
Use the NFC Tap Spot Finder to locate the recommended NFC antenna position for your exact iPhone model.
Then:
- Wake and unlock the iPhone
- Position the NFC area of the phone directly over the Review⚡️Zaps Product
- Hold the phone steady for a moment
- Tap the notification that appears to open the Google review page
Avoid quickly swiping the phone across the product. A brief, steady hold usually works better.
Check What the iPhone Is Doing
On supported iPhones, background NFC reading works automatically and there is normally no NFC switch to enable.
NFC reading may be temporarily unavailable while certain features are active, including:
- Camera
- Apple Pay
- Airplane Mode
- Before the first unlock after restarting the phone
Close the camera or payment screen, turn off Airplane Mode, unlock the phone, and try again.
How to Scan on Android
Find the Correct Tap Spot
Android phones vary significantly in where the NFC antenna is located.
Instead of guessing, use our:
NFC Tap Spot Finder
Search your exact Android phone model to see the recommended tap location.
Then:
- Wake and unlock the phone
- Position the NFC antenna area directly over the Review⚡️Zaps Product
- Hold the phone steady briefly
- Follow the prompt that appears to open the review link
Make Sure NFC Is Enabled
Open Settings and search for:
NFC
If your phone supports NFC, make sure it is turned on.
Menu locations vary by manufacturer and phone model.
Can a Phone Case Interfere?
Yes.
Thick phone cases, metal cases, magnetic accessories, or other materials between the phone and NFC tag can sometimes reduce scanning reliability.
If the phone is having trouble detecting the Review⚡️Zaps Product:
- Remove the case temporarily
- Use the NFC Tap Spot Finder to confirm the correct phone position
- Try scanning again
What if the Phone Scans the Tag but the Wrong Page Opens?
If the phone detects the NFC Product but the wrong page opens, the issue is likely the link programmed onto the tag rather than the NFC scan itself.
Use our free:
Google Review Link Generator
Search your business, select the correct location, and click TEST MY LINK to confirm the correct Google review page opens.
If needed, reprogram the Card or Stand with the fresh link.
Still Having Trouble?
Try scanning the Review⚡️Zaps Product with another NFC-compatible phone.
If it works on the second phone, the original phone’s NFC settings or tap position are likely the issue.
For help, use our Contact Us page and include:
- Your phone make and model
- Whether another compatible phone can scan the product
- What happens when you try to scan
- A short video showing the phone position and any message that appears
These details will help us determine whether the issue is phone positioning, NFC settings, compatibility, the saved review link, or the NFC tag.
